About Us

Our Philosophy

Blazin’ Paddles supports the National Park’s mission to preserve unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.

We help the National Park Service achieve that mission by providing our guests with a safe, informative and enjoyable experience. We believe in leaving no trace in our tour operations. Take only pictures and memories and leave nothing behind.

Our Company

Blazin Paddles management has decades of experience in adventure sport and travel management.

This experience includes owning and managing a whitewater rafting company in Alaska and developing and managing off-road tour products and cruise line shore excursions. One interesting fact about Blazin’ Paddles is that, quite by coincidence, our company has developed a unique connection with Alaska – almost all of our staff has lived in Alaska at one time or another. We have a great team, all of whom share a love and passion for adventure, travel and what we do. Our guides are absolutely fascinating. We have guides who have worked with Tibetan refugees in India, guides who are All-American athletes, guides who have starred on Reality TV shows, and guides who have traveled around the world. We look forward to sharing the Black Canyon of the Colorado River with you.

Our Tour Guides

Andrew

Andrew

This is Andrew. Andrew was born and raised in Las Vegas. You can usually find him exploring the outdoors with his kids. When he’s not outside, he’s probably on the couch watching any documentary he can find. If you want to know who Andrew’s favorite baseball team is, it’s definitely not the Braves.

Chelsea

Chelsea

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Chelsea brings a local’s love and knowledge to every tour. Her favorite part of being a kayak guide is sharing her peace and sanctuary with people from all over the world. When she’s not on the water, you can find her hiking, camping, enjoying music festivals, or diving into a good book. A fun fact: Spanish is Chelsea’s first language! One day, she hopes to explore the beautiful landscapes of Thailand or Indonesia.

Eric

Eric

Hailing from Elmira, New York, Eric now calls the Southwest his playground. He loves being outdoors and sharing the stunning desert landscape with people from around the world. When he’s not guiding, you can find him spearfishing, surfing, exploring music, or foraging in nature. A true creative at heart, Eric is also a musician who brings rhythm and soul to everything he does.

Eugene

Eugene

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Eugene brings a laid-back vibe and a love for the outdoors to every tour. His favorite part of guiding is meeting new people from all over the world and learning about their cultures. Outside of kayaking, you’ll find him on the basketball court, mountain biking, snowboarding, or camping with his family. When he’s not outdoors, he’s either working on cars or diving into classic video games. Fun fact: Eugene can do a handstand! Being Filipino, he dreams of visiting the Philippines to explore his roots and experience all the beauty the islands have to offer.

Jamaika

Jamaika

Originally from Lindale, Texas, and later Port St. Lucie, Florida, Jamaika loves experiencing new places and new cultures. If she’s not watching one of her favorite movies, The Lord of the Rings and Jurassic Park, then she’s probably either doing some yoga, or hiking around the local wilderness with her camera in hand. After experiencing so much of the United States with her husband, one day she wants to cross the ocean and experience all that Australia has to offer.

Jeff

Jeff

Born and raised in Las Vegas— Jeff knows the desert and river like the back of his hand. His favorite part of being a kayak guide? Taking people down the same river he’s been exploring since he was a kid… and, of course, fat tips. When he’s not on the water, Jeff stays active with fishing, rock climbing, and dancing. A fun fact about Jeff, in his off time he’s a college lacrosse referee. One day, he hopes to make it to over to Greece!

Melissa

Melissa

There are those who love nature, and then there are those who love to be one with nature… Melissa is the latter. One of her favorite things to do is immersing herself and senses in nature: building fires, soak in oceans, lakes, and rivers, watching plants grow, and climbing mountains and trees. Often drawing inspiration from nature, she creates art through dance or other forms of expression and expresses the soul in whatever way it calls. Originally from Southern California, some of her favorite places to visit are Big Sur, Mexico, Hawaii, and South America. One Day, she hopes to visit Morocco, Spain, and New Zealand.

Nichole

Nichole

Born and raised in the Las Vegas Valley, Nichole is no stranger to the National Parks in the bordering states. She often travels into the Utah wilderness to hike, camp, or use the quiet of the outdoors to start a new book. One day, she hopes to get as far north as Glacier National Park. When Nichole is back home, she loves to take advantage of Sin City’s many concerts and attend performances from her favorite country and hip-hop artists. If she’s looking for more of a chill activity, she’ll either be watching one of her favorite movies like Fundamentals of Caring, or Lilo & Stitch, or finishing that book she started earlier.
